Richard Gadd, creator of the latest popular series on Netflix, “Baby Reindeer,” reiterated his plea for internet users to stop trying to uncover the real identities of the people who inspired the characters in the series.
He emphasized that he wants the show to be appreciated as a work of art and that, although based on facts, it exists in a fictional realm. Gadd expressed his reluctance to comment on the matter again, emphasizing that he does not want to fuel speculation.
“If I wanted real people to be found, I would have made a documentary,” Richard told The Hollywood Reporter.
Since the series premiered in April, with the tagline “this is a true story,” amateur detectives have been trying to identify the real figures behind the characters, such as Martha and Darrien. Gadd, on the other hand, emphasized that the series is not about revealing real identities but about entertainment.
He refused to confirm or deny speculation about the real people behind the characters, emphasizing that the internet will always seek answers, even if there is no official confirmation.
Richard also admitted that dealing with fame has been challenging for him. While he appreciates the support of fans, he also acknowledges that increased public attention comes with its challenges. “I can no longer go to pubs, sit quietly in a corner, and eat,” he said.
‘Real-Life Martha’
Recently, the alleged ‘real-life Martha,’ as lawyer Fiona Harvey has been dubbed, gave an exclusive interview to presenter Piers Morgan for the talk show ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored‘ to tell her side of the story.
Fiona disputes the claims of harassment made by the creator of the series ‘Baby Reindeer,’ Richard Gadd, and stated that she plans to take legal action against Netflix.
